The village is situated in the midst of the low mountain range landscape of the Hunsrück, at the foot of the Idarkopf. Neighbouring communities within a radius of 5 km are Horbruch, Wahlenau, Hirschfeld, Kleinich and Krummenau. The nearest centre is Bernkastel-Kues on the Moselle. The rural village with about 300 inhabitants is ideal for holidays and leisure. Cycling and hiking trails invite nature lovers to take long walks. In winter, the Idarkopf (746 m) offers a cross-country ski trail and groomed slopes.
My tips if you do get pulled out:
- Hiking route the “Seitensprung Kirchspiel’s Tälertour” past the old mills in the Kautenbach valley
- Eat and drink at Maiga’s Bauwagen-Cafe , at Udo’s Landhaus Arnoth or just a burger at “Hawks”.
- Shopping facilities are available in Morbach
- Cycling routes for every requirement
